Everyone in the UK is talking about power cuts and worrying about future increased energy prices. Sometimes we get so busy planning, preparing or worrying about the future that we forget to live, enjoy and appreciate each day now. We do lots of overtime, get second jobs, or make sacrifices to pay for the annual cruise instead of making our life one that we don’t need to take a vacation from. We save all our money for a rainy day instead of enjoying the sunny ones. I know I was often guilty of worrying about what could happen in a negative way, instead of looking forward and fantasising about what amazing things might happen. Now and again I might slip back into that way of thinking if I watch the news or see too many panicking posts on social media. I am not saying don’t plan or take small actions that will help if the worst does happen, but making it your primary focus will cause you misery.
Once again it is all about mindset. The quote is by John Geiger. Life is what you think about and what you make it, even in these scarey, stressful and unsettled times. No one knows what waits for us around the corner, but if we imagine it is a rainbow rather than a grizzly bear, our journey there will be much easier and happier. Have a good day xx.
