Just a quick post this morning as I am going for my last early morning swim in the sea as we go home from our break away tomorrow. I was looking at the Aldi deals this week in the UK, and noticed that there was a portable washing machine for camping. In our Simple, frugal life private group a few people have been talking about making or buying a washing machine to save on energy costs. Any device with moving parts uses a lot of energy and so, although it would be more effort, one of these portable machines would be less effort than hand washing every thing. It is also eco friendly. (This is the link if you wish to join the private group https://www.facebook.com/252028359013009/posts/1024191025130068/) This might seem a bit extreme to some, but a number of people are struggling already and prices are set to rise considerably again in October.
The rising price of energy is out of our control but how much energy we use is in our control. I have found myself using solar lights indoors, charging my phone in the car, doing one less wash load each week, using my oven less, drying the clothes on the line, amongst other things to save money. Are you getting more conscious of the money you use, and if so, what changes are you making? Have a good day.
Site is great
