I got a waffle maker just over a year ago in a sale for £8, but like most gadgets I forget to use it. I have got a very busy couple of weeks coming up and so I spent this morning making things to put in my freezer that I can just grab at a later date. We had meals in there but no kind of snacky food which I just feel like some times. The ones I made today I made with half sweet potato and used orange cheese, kidding myself that they are healthier. I like mine well cooked and crispy but you can cook them less so that they look like the shop bought ones.
Recipe
2 raw potatoes grated.
2oz cheese
I onion chopped small and lightly fried
I egg (beaten)
I tsp smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste.
Method
1. Squeeze the juice out of the potatoes (I use a thin cotton T towel)
2. Put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix
3.Spray the plates of the waffle maker with low calorie spray
4. Fill the plates with the sloppy mixture.
5.Cook until golden brown
We use these waffles for breakfast and for lunches. They are a good way of using up potatoes that are starting to sprout.
I like the idea of home made potato waffles I don’t like bought variety . Do you freeze them separately or in a bag together?
Would you recommend any particular Air fryer please .
