Christmas Chocolate Lollies.

Making presents doesn’t have to cost a lot of money, and you don’t  have to be an expert. Today I made some Christmas chocolate lollies with my grandson. I will make some more nearer Christmas to put in my hampers. I have lots of the sweet left. Yellow smarties can also be used. We buy the eyes from Poundland. I use them for lots of things. I also got the sticks from a bargain discount store for £1.20.

Ingredients

A bar of chocolate. 100g made 7 or 8.

Some orange smarties.

A bag of large white chocolate buttons.

Candy eyes (or can be made from black ad white fondant. fondant.)

Lolly sicks

A silicone mat or parchment paper.

Method.

1. Melt the chocolate in the microwave, stirring every 20 seconds.

2. Put a dap of chocolate onto the mat and stick the lolly stick to it.

3. Using a dessert spoon, drop the chocolate on to the mat over the stick, making a circle. I touch the  tip of the spoon in the centre of the circle as it spreads out naturally.

4. Cut the smarties in half .

5. Place the white chocolate button towards the bottom of the circle, leaving room for the feet.

6. Add the half smarties as feet and as a beak.

7. Place on the eyes.

8. Put in the fridge or a cool place until they set.

9. Remove the lolly. I find a silicone mat so much easier for working with chocolate.

10. If using as a present, place in a small cellophane bag and tie with a ribbon or Christmas string.

21. If not placing in bags, keep them in an air tight container.

My grandson loved them. They look effective but are really easy to make. The hard part is not eating them. 😊😇

Here is something else that can be made as a present with 100g of chocolate and some baking ingredients. Easy sweet treats

Thank you for sharing. This would be lovely in a Xmas hamper or stocking . I’m thinking you could use them to make a hot chocolate. too instead of those overpriced blocks on a stick

Yes I am not sure if there is enough chocolate but I am sure they could be adapted.

Hi these are lovely. Where do you buy the lolly sticks from

They were just from one of those £1 discount stores in the city but I expect that Amazon will sell them. We wash ours and use them again 😁
