Another chocolate animal lolly.

I enjoyed making the chocolate pengun lollies the other day and  so decided to have a go at another chocolate animal lolly. I still had white chocolate buttons left.

Ingredients

Large white chocolate buttons.

Small white chocolate buttons.

Candy eyes

100g of chocolate

1 small black licorice stick.

Silicone mat or parchment.

Thin lolly sticks

Method

1. Break the chocolate up into small pieces and melt. I do mine in the microwave and stir every 20 seconds.

2. Put a blob of chocolate on the mat and stick the top of the lolly stick to it.

3. Place 2 small buttons where you think the ears will be on the mat. Pour a circle of chocolate over the stick so that the ears are half covered. (It will look like a pig if you put the ears on top of the circle).

4. Place a large button towards the bottom of the  poured chocolate circle, and place the eyes above it.

5. With a bit of chocolate, fix a small button on top of the large button.

6. Snip a tiny bit of licorice off the licorice stick and stick to the small button in the middle.

1 100g of chocolate makes 6 lollies. I always chose chocolate without palm oil. At the moment that is often the cheap chocolate rather than some of the brands.

I think I am enjoying making these as much as my grandson is enjoying eating them. They are so easy and look good. It was difficult today, though, as my house was freezing and the chocolate was setting as quickly as I could pour it.

I wonder what animal I could make next. Any ideas? I might put the animals on round gingerbread biscuits for my hampers, instead of making reindeer this year. This is the recipe that I like to use for the gingerbread.

I hope that you have as much fun making these as I do.
