Money not spent, means less money needs to be earned.

My friend was in my kitchen the other day and I was making our main meal. As she passed me the tube of tomato puree out of the fridge she commented that it was empty. I got the rolling pin out of the drawer and rolled it up a couple of times and got over a teaspoon more out of it. She cracked out laughing, shaking her head saying “only you”.

She might think I am mad, but it is little habits like this that have saved me money over the years, and enabled me to retire early and live on a small pension. Each little bit of money not spent, means less money needed to be earned.

Every day I am saving small amounts of money with little habits.  Over a day I probably have nearly 100 habits, and these save me money each day.  These are things like turning the heating down a few degrees,  only boiling the amount of water that I need in a kettle for a drink, using a bar of soap rather than a liquid dispenser, to the way I shop and cook.
