Airfried chick pea snack

I had the munches today but am trying to be good. I therefore decided to make a healthy, crunchy snack to eliminate my craving. I soaked and boiled some chick peas yesterday and so I made an airfried chickpea snack.

Ingredients.

I can of chick peas (I used dried ones I boiled yesterday).

Spray oil (mine is olive in a travel spray bottle)

Seasoning or spices of choice

Method

1. Rinse the can of chick peas.

2. Turn out on to a T towel and pat dry.

3. Leave them sitting on a dry towel for an hour.

4. Put in the air fryer at 200⁰C for 17 minutes.

5. Give them a good shake and airfry for another 3 or 4 minutes. I tested mine after 2 more minutes.

6. Spray with oil and season to taste. I used smoked paprika and salt.

7. Store them in an airtight jar once they have cooled.

I now have a healthy snack when I start to crave peanuts or crisps. They actually taste really nice.  Even Mr S liked them. He was skeptical when he put one into his mouth. His reaction was “Oh wow”!

Ive done them before but where a bit hard, I’ll try again using your recipe. I was impressed with my air fryer carrots, parsnips and beetroot crisps yesterday. Used the mandolin slicer for extra thin! Thanks for sharing Toni. X

Keep checking one in the last 3 minutes to make sure that they don’t over cook

No I haven’t. I don’t know what I would put on them without them burning.

I’m going to have to try these! My first attempt wasn’t a great success 😏 but that was without a proper recipe. So thank you!

Yes my first attempt didn’t work either. I thinkvit was because I put the oil and spices on first vegore cooking. I also cooked them too long which is why I kept checking them this time

I used these in pitta with salad the other day instead of chicken!

Yes they are lovely like that, especially when they are in a coronation sauce.

Amazing Toni. Nit made yet but I love love love chickpeas so I will try. Someone asked about a sweet version…could use maple syrup or agave syrup. Before I do these I bought contents to make your ice cream so here goes first.
