I had the munches today but am trying to be good. I therefore decided to make a healthy, crunchy snack to eliminate my craving. I soaked and boiled some chick peas yesterday and so I made an airfried chickpea snack.
Ingredients.
I can of chick peas (I used dried ones I boiled yesterday).
Spray oil (mine is olive in a travel spray bottle)
Seasoning or spices of choice
Method
1. Rinse the can of chick peas.
2. Turn out on to a T towel and pat dry.
3. Leave them sitting on a dry towel for an hour.
4. Put in the air fryer at 200⁰C for 17 minutes.
5. Give them a good shake and airfry for another 3 or 4 minutes. I tested mine after 2 more minutes.
6. Spray with oil and season to taste. I used smoked paprika and salt.
7. Store them in an airtight jar once they have cooled.
I now have a healthy snack when I start to crave peanuts or crisps. They actually taste really nice. Even Mr S liked them. He was skeptical when he put one into his mouth. His reaction was “Oh wow”!

Ive done them before but where a bit hard, I’ll try again using your recipe. I was impressed with my air fryer carrots, parsnips and beetroot crisps yesterday. Used the mandolin slicer for extra thin! Thanks for sharing Toni. X
Keep checking one in the last 3 minutes to make sure that they don’t over cook
That sounds just exactly what’s needed in this house!
Brilliant
Im definitely going to try them….i always crave snacks and these seem nice and healthy.
I am a big snacker too, especially when bored 😊
Thank you for sharing I’m a terrible picker for nuts, will try these and some veg crisps 😊
Me too. Not quite as good but a lot healthier 😊
Thanks for posting these, I’ve a can of chickpeas in my cupboard so I’ll try these this evening!
I hope that you enjoyed them
Thank you for the recipe. I will try these with my purchase offer from Farmfoods
Good idea. They are a bargsin at 3 for £1, aren’t they?
Thank you, Toni. I will definitely be trying these.
Brilliant. Thanks for commenting
They look delicious
Thank you. They are lovely
These look yummy . Have you ever made these in a sweet version? X
No I haven’t. I don’t know what I would put on them without them burning.
I’m going to have to try these! My first attempt wasn’t a great success 😏 but that was without a proper recipe. So thank you!
Yes my first attempt didn’t work either. I thinkvit was because I put the oil and spices on first vegore cooking. I also cooked them too long which is why I kept checking them this time
I used these in pitta with salad the other day instead of chicken!
Yes they are lovely like that, especially when they are in a coronation sauce.
Will have to try this. Thanks
No worries. Thanks for commenting
Amazing Toni. Nit made yet but I love love love chickpeas so I will try. Someone asked about a sweet version…could use maple syrup or agave syrup. Before I do these I bought contents to make your ice cream so here goes first.
Enjoy. I am making ice cream today as well. Thanks for commenting

I keep meaning to try these, I’m sure we will both like them, thank you.
They stop me eating peanuts which are more fattening 😁
