I am slowly going through my cupboards and using up what I have in. We bought some biscoff spread look alike last year to ripple through ice cream, but forgot about it. I found it at the back of the cupboard the other week. It was therefore used to make us a treat with it tonight for when my grandson comes tomorrow.
I don’t line tins when I make tray bakes, whether they are cooked or not. A silicone mat is just placed inside the tin. I very rarely use parchment paper and use the silicone mats on baking trays to cook biscuits, scones, and pasties. They initially cost me £10 for 5, but I u have had them 6 years an use them almost daily, and so I have saved money. I fold them and put them in the air fryer, dehydrate fruit leathers and herbs on them, make truffles using them, and freeze yoghurt bark in the freezer on them. Everything easily peels off.
This is the biscuit spread that I used. I think it around £1. It was less when I got it.

Ingredients
3 cups of oats
1 cup of biscoffee spread
250g to 200g chocolate (I prefer dark but only had cheap milk).
Method
1. Mix together the oats, biscoff spread and half a cup of water until they are well combined.
2. Using the back of a spoon press into a lined tin. Mine was 8″ by 8″ but a smaller one is ok and the base will be a bit thicker.
3. Melt the chocolate and pour over the base. I melt mine in the microwave, stopping and stirring every 20 seconds.
Apologies for the shadow and the bad photography but this was done late last night. An easy, quick treat using up what we already have. We are trying not to shop for 2 months except for necessary staples. I am saving my annual budget for the bargains later in the year. There is going to be a lot of ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’ going on. 😊
I’m a little confused. You call it a tray bake, but do you bake it or just chill it? Sounds really good though.
Just chill it. Didn’t know what else to call it 😁
They look lovely – will have to have a go at making. I know what will be on my next shopping list
