I always make sure that I have some of those part baked rolls or baguettes in the cupboard. At the moment they are 69p for 6 in Lidl and are good value in lots of other places too. They are great for if I run out of bread, want to make some wild garlic bread with some of my pesto, or if a guest comes unexpectedly for lunch. During the summer, especially, we make these hot baguette tuna and cheese rolls after a hard day in the garden and will serve them with a salad. They are quick and easy. I cook mine in the air fryer but they can also be cooked in an oven.
Makes 4
Ingredients
1 can of tuna
Grated hard cheese
Part baked rolls or baguettes
Method
- Slice the baguette on the top
- Fill the slit with tuna being careful not to break the roll apart
- Put grated cheese on top
- Air fry on 200C for 10 minutes or until the rolls are cooked and crispy.
Some times we will put vegetables cooked in a spicy sauce into these with cheese on top, a wild garlic pesto with cheese on top, or pulled chicken with BBQ sauce and cheese on top.
Looks great
Thanks. I had something similar in a pub in York years ago which cost a fortune and so it is nice to be able to add it to my meal plans.
