Healthy snack.

For about 2 years now I have seen reels with this healthy snack. Ramadan is just around the corner and so majoule dates are discounted at a lot of shops. I finally bought some to make this healthy (ish) snack.

It is usually made as a tray bake. Majoule dates that have been de-stoned are pressed in to the bottom of the tin, a thin layer of peanut butter is spread on top. A final layer of plain, dark, melted chocolate is poured on the top. I used 70%.

I decided to make them upside down in my silicone doughtnut mould. I have a silicone heart mould that I might use next time. I melted the chocolate, put it in the moulds, and waited for it to set. That wasn’t long in my cold kitchen. On top I put a thin layer of peanut butter, and then the dates straight on top, and pressed them down. I then turned them out of the moulds. In my mind I think that they look better than cut from a traybake.

I am on a healthy eating challenge at the moment and so am only allowed one a day as my sweet treat. It hits the spot, though. This is the mould that I used. You can use what ever quantaties you have, and make them as small or thin as you want.

Here are some other ‘healthy’ snacks
